The noise and pollution from diesel generators used to power off-grid telecommunication towers can be disruptive to rural communities. Since Yoma Micro Power began providing electricity to the telecom tower in Thein Chaung Village in Sagaing Region, the diesel generator that used to run for 22 hours each day is now only run for maintenance purposes before being removed completely. The caretaker describes the impact this has had for his work in this video: https://www.facebook.com/YomaMicroPower/videos/629967970688937/.Keep up with all of Yoma Micro Power's activity on our Facebook page.
