Reporting to : Senior Design & Implementation Manager
Position Summary:
The Senior Implementation Engineer is responsible for on-site execution, supervision, and coordination of solar projects installation, commissioning activities and managing contractor teams to deliver plan within approved timeline.
Job Profile
Project Execution & Site Supervision
- Arrange and conduct site surveys and prepare feasibility inputs for solar systems for commercial and industrial customers.
- Conduct regular and daily site visits to monitor solar installation activities and overall project progress.
- Supervise on-site activities including civil works, mounting structure installation, solar module installation, DC/AC electrical works, and commissioning support.
- Ensure all works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, BOQs, and project schedules.
- Coordinate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth site execution.
Planning, Monitoring & Reporting
- Maintain and monitor project plans, schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures.
- Share daily work plans with site teams and update the project master tracker on a regular basis.
- Prepare and submit daily site reports covering progress, manpower, material status, and safety observations.
- Support preparation and submission of weekly and monthly project reports.
- Maintain accurate site records, inspection checklists, test reports, and as-built documentation.
Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC)
- Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures at project sites.
- Conduct inspections and checks on materials, workmanship, and installation practices.
- Record QA/QC data, site instructions, variations, and non-conformities.
- Identify quality issues and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), toolbox talks, safety inductions, and work permit systems.
- Enforce HSE policies, procedures, and safety standards at site.
- Identify unsafe practices or conditions and take immediate corrective action.
- Support incident reporting and implementation of preventive measures.
Stakeholder Coordination & Communication
- Organize, attend, and participate in internal and external stakeholder meetings.
- Prepare presentation materials and technical inputs for meetings.
- Document meeting minutes and follow up on agreed actions and decisions.
Continuous Improvement & Risk Management
- Continuously update technical knowledge and identify innovative approaches and technologies in solar implementation.
- Identify project risks and issues and propose practical solutions to mitigate them.
Job Specification
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field of study.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in related field.
Desirable Skills and Attributes:
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Hands-on experience in site supervision and execution
- Understanding QA/QC and HSE requirements
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and BOQs
- Willingness to travel and work at project sites
- Good coordination, reporting, and communication skills
- Ability to work on tight deadlines.
- Regular site visits as per work schedule.
