Job title: Assistant Finance & Accounting Manager

Position Summary: The Assistant Finance Manager supports the Finance Controller in overseeing the financial health of the organization. This role involves assisting with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. The Assistant Finance Manager helps manage day-to-day finance operations, supervises junior accounting staff, and contributes to strategic financial planning. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Job Description & Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily Finance & Accounting operations.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements in compliance with GAAP and IFRS.
- Prepare monthly lease accounting (500+ leases) under IFRS 16.
- Calculate and record monthly borrowing costs.
- Review monthly financial reports and supporting schedules prepared by the finance team.
- Prepare management reports, financial analysis, and presentation materials.
- Review and approve weekly payment proposals, including onshore and offshore transfers.
- Monitor accounts receivable and support collection activities.
- Coordinate quarterly inventory counts and stock reconciliations.
- Coordinate external audits and provide required documentation.
- Prepare and submit statutory, tax, and shareholder reports on time.
- Ensure compliance with tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and improve finance policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and data.
- Supervise, coach, and develop junior finance staff.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and other finance projects.
- Support the Senior management with budgeting, forecasting, special projects, process improvement initiatives, and other ad hoc assignments as required.
Job Specification
Qualification:
- A bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Finance, Economics, ACCA part II is preferable.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Management position.
- Strong track record of project experience, data analytics, leadership and financial skills
