Community Engagement Role

Main responsibilities

  • Community outreach and trainings: establish and maintain relationships with communities, organize

information sharing sessions and electricity-related trainings for customers, acting as a knowledgeable

representative of Yoma Micro Power during all engagements

  • Site identification: Identify sites for community electrification, visit rural villages for surveys and data

collection

  • Customer service: Provide assistance and excellent customer service to all community customers
  • Team coordination: Respond to requests from other teams, participate in coordination meetings and

foster collaboration with other teams to ensure flawless workflow

  • Data collection and reporting: collect and maintain customer information up to date, collect village-level

data and prepare reports and updates for the management to inform project/service design

 

Required experience, skills and attributes

  • 2-5 years or more of professional experience in customer-facing roles in private sector energy companies,

banking, microfinance or other product/service companies

  • Previous experience in and understanding of Myanmar’s (rural) electricity sector is an advantage
  • Basic IT skills to use online databases and remote monitoring tools
  • Great communicator in Myanmar language, English at conversational level
  • Confident in presenting in front of large audience as well as senior management and explain complex

technical terminology in plain terms

  • Problem-solver, solution-seeker with positive and proactive approach to challenging situations
  • Active learner and able to maintain focus over ongoing multiple tasks and activities
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of time all around Myanmar
