Job Summary:
The Assistant QHSE Manager supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental processes and their implementation, with a focus on compliance, operational excellence, and risk mitigation in renewable energy projects. This role ensures that all project activities are aligned with internal QHSE policies.
Job Profile:
Quality
- Assist in developing Quality policies and creating quality plans for projects
- Conduct audits, inspections, and quality checks at partner factories and YMP sites and ensure timely closure of identified issues.
- Work with other function teams to address quality-related concerns
- Prepare Quality Index (QI) checklists and report Index Ratings
- Track and regularly report on project/site quality performance
Health
- Organize awareness sessions on occupational health topics (e.g., ergonomics, workplace hygiene, mental health)
- Ensure availability of First Aid kits (usable) at all workplaces of YMP
Safety
- Promote and enforce a safe working environment with a goal of Zero Lost Time to Injury (LTI)
- Deliver regular training sessions (e.g., HSE induction, firefighting drills, WAH) for employees and contractors
- Maintain employee awareness through refresher training programs and on-site activities
- Support and guide engineering teams in following safety procedures and meeting safety KPIs
- Investigate incidents, accidents and near-misses, and conduct root cause analyses
- Review and maintain daily logs, toolbox meeting records, HSE checklists and other site documentation, identify potential risks and prepare a risk response plan and ensure adherence.
- Document and report theft, loss or damage incidents to management
Environment
- Identify and mitigate environmental and social risks across company operations (e.g., waste management, erosion control)
- Monitor compliance with environmental standards and regulations (e.g., tree replanting to compensate for vegetation clearance for solar installations)
- Support the preparation of environmenal reports for shareholders and government authorities
General
- Represent the QHSE department in meetings with internal teams, contractors, and government departments
- Coordinate with relevant government offices to secure Electrical Hazard Safety Certificate (EHSC)
- Support the preparation of shareholder, CSR and government reports by compiling accurate data
- Maintain proper records of QHSE activities (eg., training logs, inspection reports, audit findings)
- Assist due diligence with investors in QHSE assessments related requirements and compliances
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Manager or senior management
Job specification
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Preferably Electrical Engineering), Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in QHSE are highly preferred.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in QHSE supervisory roles, ideally within renewable energy, infrastructure, or construction sectors.
- Proven experience in conducting audits, safety inspections, and incident investigations.
- Familiarity with Myanmar regulatory compliance standards and international QHSE practices.
Desirable Skills and Attributes:
- Strong knowledge of QHSE systems, risk assessment, and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Experience preparing training materials and delivering awareness sessions.
- Comfortable using QHSE tracking tools or software (a plus).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Proactive problem-solver with a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
- Good command of English and Myanmar (written and spoken) is required.
- Able to travel to project sites across Myanmar.

- Having experience of Quality Assurance and Quality Control along with methodology of Sites Quality Indexation
