Job Description

Base Location             : Yangon, Myanmar (with travel as required)

Reporting to               : CEO

 

Role Summary:

We are looking for a highly driven Senior Business Development Manager with a strong sales background to lead the growth of YMP’s C&I solar business. This role will be responsible for identifying and closing solar and hybrid energy solutions for industrial parks, factories, commercial buildings, and other high-consumption clients across Myanmar. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in solution sales, an entrepreneurial mindset, and experience navigating complex B2B environments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a C&I go-to-market strategy aligned with YMP’s commercial goals. Identify target sectors and prioritize opportunities based on demand, site viability, and commercial returns.

Sales & Deal Closure:

  • Own the end-to-end sales cycle—from prospecting to contract negotiation and closing. Build a robust pipeline of C&I prospects and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in target companies.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor by understanding their energy needs and proposing tailored technical-financial solutions.

Technical & Commercial Coordination:

  • Work closely with engineering, finance, and legal teams to structure competitive proposals, conduct site assessments, and develop business cases for customers or bank financed projects.

Market Intelligence:

  • Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and policy/regulatory updates to inform product positioning and strategic direction.

Team Leadership:

  • Mentor BD staff and help grow a high-performing sales organization as the C&I vertical expands.

 

Job Specification

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or related field; MBA is a plus.

 

Experience Required:

  • At least 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles, preferably in renewable energy, infrastructure, or B2B technology sectors

 

Desirable Skills and Attributes:

  • Proven track record of high-value sales deals or long-term contracts with corporate or industrial clients
  • Strong understanding of solar PV solutions, energy cost modeling, and PPA/lease structures
  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and results-oriented, with the ability to operate with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Fluency in English and Myanmar required; Chinese is a plus
